A low cost alternative to the all new Shearwater Predator is the Predator-SA. This computer has many of the advantages of its big brother but made especially for those on a budget. The SA (Stand Alone) version has the external port (Fischer or XD) connector removed, With a brand new COLOUR OLED screen (320 x 160 Colour OLED display), the Shearwater solution again takes the technical dive computer market by storm. But the extremely high resolution clear screen is not the only development. The Predator also sports a bluetooth interface for downloading logs and uploading new firmware, coupled with the Shearwater dive-log manager that is free to customers, we have the perfect solution.
The OLED is full color and the Predator takes advantage of that. The display normally shows green text. If a number goes into a caution zone, it turns yellow. Red means you need to take care of this now. You can glance at your buddy’s screen and see the colors to immediately assess your buddy’s status. Still with ambient light sensing automatic backlight. The SA comes in open circuit Trimix and can be upgraded vis a PIN to closed circuit fixed setpoint.
